Spring Hill Clock Dedication – Van Rusling

The dedication of a new clock was held Thursday evening in front of the new CVS Pharmacy at the intersection of Old Shell Road and McGregor Avenue.   The clock was being dedicated in memory of Van Rusling one of the original founders of the Carpe Diem Coffee and Tea Company.  Along with his wife Tomi Sue, they created an atmosphere that is uniquely Spring Hill.

Mayor Sam Jones - Clock Dedication

Attending the festivities were Mayor Sam Jones and several members of the Mobile City Council, including Council Members Gina Gregory and Reggie Copeland who are co-representatives of the Spring Hill area.  Board Members of the Village of Spring Hill were also present.

During the dedication ceremony, Tomi Sue Rusling recalled how her husband had a vision for not only their new coffee shop, but for Spring Hill as well, which included a clock.  We would like to thank Tomi Sue Rusling and her family for providing such a fitting tribute in his memory.

Carpe Diem is located at the corner of Old Shell Road and Dilston Street across from Spring Hill College and next to Springhill Dermatology Clinic.
